Moonlighting rules
Eligibility: PGY-2 or higher, annual approval with Dr. Chen's signature, and no moonlighting during remediation or sick call.
- Maximum 60 scheduled clinical hours in each Monday 7 AM–Monday 7 AM period.
- Rest between shifts must equal the preceding shift's duration; conference time affects the rest interval.
- No more than six consecutive nights; at least 24 hours off per Monday-to-Monday week. Wednesday conference alone does not count as the day off.
- No Tuesday overnight moonlighting or Wednesday conflict with conference, except when on vacation and not required to attend.
- SAFE: no more than 72 combined ED and SAFE clinical hours Monday–Sunday; SAFE must end at least four hours before the next shift or conference. For off-service rotations without specified hours, count 9 AM–5 PM.
